01.Placement of in-text references

要求：

In-text references必须放在一个句子中，也就是说，它们必须在句号之前。

例子：

While some have argued that cosmopolitanism is a rich and global form of identity (Appiah, 2006), others have argued that it is a 'noble but flawed ideal' (Nussbaum, 2019).

02.Summarising a source

要求：

当总结来源的时候。在文本中的引用应该放在靠近段落的第一句话开始。第一个和第二个句子应该非常清楚的表明你写的是关于来源。

例子：

Ball (1995) critiques the idea that policy research isdesigned to implement the most technically 'correct' policy – one that is efficient. Instead, Ball suggests that these researchers have lost sight of the values and ethical dimensions of policy work. 03.Paraphrasing a source

要求：

Paraphrasing是一把你在资料中读到的观点和论点用你自己的话表达出来。当意译一个来源时，文本引用不包括页码，除非是指来源的特定部分。

04.Short quotations

要求：也就是40字以内的直接引用，引用的内容要记得用双引号“ ”

05.Block quotations

要求：

40字以上直接引用

例子：

06：Secondary references

要求：

有时候想引用的来源没读过，但是在另外一个你读过的来源中被引用过

例子：

Graeber (2019, as cited in Churcher & Talbot,2020, p. 31) argued that the employee is ‘obliged to pretend that this is not the case’ as part of their ‘conditions of employment’.
